We are an informal group of like-minded people who enjoy photography. Our goal is to bring together, in an informal setting, photographic enthusiasts to share, support, and educate one another. There are no dues or membership requirements, nor is MCAC membership required. We are open to all,

regardless of experience or skill level.

Hi Everyone!

The next Camera Club meeting Will be held on August 12th, 2017 from 11am to 1pm at the Mattawoman Creek Art Center in Smallwood State Park on Route 224 (Chickamuxen Rd.) - Marbury, MD.

This is your camera club! Feel free to bring up any topic, express concerns, or suggest  places for the group to photograph. There never seems to be enough time during the meetings for me to help each member, however, I can stay longer after the meeting and/or you can e-mail me for help. I would like to hear from all members.  If anyone has difficulty with, or questions about, cameras or photography, please feel free to contact me.

ITEMS OF INTEREST

--For shooting in the early morning and/or evening I use "The Photographer's Ephemeris (TPE)" tool and find it very helpful. You can download the program for free here.

--Camera batteries may die quicker in the cold so keep them warm.

--If you keep your camera in the car overnight or if you are outside for a long time, put your camera in a plastic bag before you come back in where it's warm to prevent condensation damage. Let the camera warm up before removing it from the plastic bag.

--Bright snow will throw off your camera's meter. Check out these youtube links on snow exposures:

Recommended publication:

THE ULTIMATE CANON SLR HANDBOOK

It is a little pricey at $29.99, but the 226 pages are packed with great information on how cameras work, lenses, f/stops, depth of field, and more. Much of the information can be applied to other non-Canon cameras as well.
