Exhibit Information
The Mattawoman Creek Art Center (MCAC) is a non-profit organization dedicated
to cultivating the creation, appreciation, and availability of the visual fine arts in Southern Maryland. Located in Smallwood State Park in Marbury, Maryland, MCAC overlooks
the scenic Mattawoman Creek. MCAC's spacious and light-filled gallery displays
eight to ten art exhibitions annually. Exhibits are usually on display for five weekends
and include a reception. MCAC is open and free to the public on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 11:00 am - 4:00 pm. The State Park entry fee is waived for Art Center members and visitors.
OPEN SHOWS:
Exhibitions are open to all artists 18 years or older (MCAC members and non-members).

Usually accept all forms of visual art media, but are occasionally limited to specific media.

May or may not have a show theme. The theme may be either required (artwork must fit the theme) or optional (artists are encouraged, but not required to create artwork to fit the theme).

May be juried. A qualified art juror views the entries and selects the artwork to be displayed in the show.

If there are prizes, the juror selects the winners. Prizes may or may not be cash.

There may be a People's Choice Award, which is usually a non-cash award with a ribbon.

May include a collaboration with individuals or groups, such as writers, musicians, florists, etc.

Artwork must be hand-delivered to MCAC on the art entry dates and times as listed on the Call for Entries form. MCAC Cannot accept package deliveries. Artists must be present to enter their artwork. Unsold artwork must be retrieved by the artist at the end of the show on the dates/times as listed on the Call for Entry form.
INDIVIDUAL ARTIST OR GROUP SHOWS:
Feature the artwork of an individual artist or a group of artists.

Individual artists of all media and artist groups are invited to apply to show their artwork.

The artist or group may contract for the whole gallery, or one room of the gallery.

Artwork must be hand-delivered to MCAC on the art entry dates and times as listed on the Call for Entries form. MCAC Cannot accept package deliveries. Artists must be present to enter their artwork. Unsold artwork must be retrieved by the artist at the end of the show on the dates/times as listed on the Call for Entry form.
MEMBERS GALLERY SHOWS:
Features artwork of one MCAC member artist on the walls in the office area.

Exhibits are about 9 weeks long and all current MCAC members are invited to apply for a show.
